Bournemouth lost to Millwall, 3-0, in the third round of the FA Cup. Steve Morison, Shaun Cummings, and Shane Ferguson scored for the south-east London club.
American midfielder Emerson Hyndman started and played 56 minutes for Bournemouth. He’s played in three matches this season, including two substitute appearances in the EFL Cup.
Hyndman signed a four-year deal with Bournemouth last summer after spending three seasons with Fulham. The 20-year old Texas native has two national team caps and recently spoke with The Guardian about his international future:
“I don’t know Bruce [Arena] personally, although I hope to get to know him pretty soon!”
Bournemouth is currently in ninth place in the English Premier League with 25 points from 20 matches. Perhaps this FA Cup appearance is a sign of good things to come for Hyndman, a player who has struggled to work his way into the rotation after sustaining an injury in the preseason.
