Cameron Carter-Vickers starts in Tottenham’s FA Cup win over Aston Villa

You got that from Vickers' "Work in Essex County," page 98, right? Yeah, I read that too. Were you gonna plagiarize the whole thing for us?

Tottenham defeated Aston Villa, 2-0, in the third round of the FA Cup at White Hart Lane. Ben Davies scored in the 71st minute and Heung-Min Son added an insurance goal in the 80th.

United States youth international Cameron Carter-Vickers started and played the full 90 minutes in the victory. The 19-year old defender put in a solid performance, as evidenced by a search on Twitter:

Carter-Vickers is still awaiting his English Premier League debut, but inclusion in the FA Cup is a huge step forward in his young career. After proving himself capable of a solid shift, he could see an increase in playing time.

It’s important to note that Carter-Vickers is still eligible for England, as he has yet to be capped by the USMNT. Jurgen Klinsmann had the opportunity to cap-tie him in World Cup Qualifiers, but opted not to do so.

Will Bruce Arena make Carter-Vickers a priority? We’ll see in March. If not, the Three Lions are ready to pounce.
