After the destruction in Houston following Hurricane Harvey, former U.S. Men’s National Team player Stu Holden announced that he would be organizing a celebrity soccer match to benefit those rebuilding after the storm. Details of the match have been announced and the game is scheduled for November 18 at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased for a flat cost of $30 a seat. The revenue generated by the game will go to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
According to MLSSoccer.com, a list of stars has committed to playing in the game. Headlining the list is Alex Morgan, Landon Donovan, Alexi Lalas, Taylor Twellman, and Clint Dempsey. Joining the soccer stars will be former Houston Astros pitcher Roger Clemens and retired NBA point guard Steve Nash, a noted soccer enthusiast.
The match will be broadcast on a variety of Fox Sports outlets and will be replayed on FS1 at 1:30PM the day following the game.
