The Golden Boy stole the headlines this weekend with a phenomenal, match-winning finish, but we’ve got much more to discuss this week. Among the news was Timothy Chandler making his triumphant return to the Eintracht Frankfurt lineup and an eligible youngster recorded a hat-trick in France.
Let’s take a look at some of the highs & lows from around the globe:
Christian Pulisic
You have seen it already. But see it again. And then also one more time. Pulisic handed Dortmund the win over Hoffenheim with a touch of class in the 89’ minute. Both the player, and the club, badly needed that moment. The win moved BvB back into 3rd place, two points behind Schalke.
PULISIC WINS IT!

Theoson Jordan Siebatcheu
A new addition to Yanks Abroad, Siebatcheu is eligible to play for France (has had time with their U21s), Cameroon & the United States. The 21 year old is playing in Ligue 2 in France for Stade de Reims. On Saturday, he finished with a hat-trick and added a clever back heel assist for good measure.

Weston McKennie
The 19 year old played all 90 of the 3-2 midweek win over Augsburg and then started on the bench, entering in the 81st min on Saturday. He was on the field as Schalke scored the equalizer in the 95’ minute to draw 2-2. Schalke sit in 2nd place, but are 11 points back from Bayern.
Timmy Chandler
After knee surgery back in October, Timmy made his return to the Frankfurt lineup. In his first match on Tuesday, he put in a Man of the Match worthy performance recording two assists in the 2-1 win. On Saturday, he entered the match in the 42’ minute when Frankfurt lost points at the death to Schalke.
DeAndre Yedlin
The Magpies fell to Arsenal by a final of 1-0 and also slipped into the relegation zone. Yedlin went the full 90 minutes and despite a barrage of 23 shots, the Newcastle backline only conceded once. Arsenal seemed to focus on attacking on Yedlin’s side of the field for portions of the match. He came close to sending the ball into his own net tackling Alexis Sanchez, but it was a gritty showing against some lethal players.
Matt Miazga
The anchor of the Vitesse back line went 90 minutes on Wednesday in a 2-2 draw with Willem, and then also went the distance over the weekend in a 1-1 draw with FC Twente.
Crystal Dunn
Dunn went the distance for the Chelsea Ladies as they defeated Liverpool in a Cup match 5-1.
Tim Ream
The Fulham centerback played all 90 minutes as they loss to Sunderland 1-0.
Antonee Robinson
The Everton loanee went went 90 minutes for Bolton in a 1-0 loss to Burton Albion.
Geoff Cameron
Cameron started at RB for Stoke as they were thrashed by West Ham 3-0. As noted by the scoreline, he will want to forget this one.
Keaton Parks
The 20 year old came off the bench in the 84th min for Benfica as they defeated Tondela 5-1.
Omar Gonzalez
I’m adding this one with a bit of an eye roll, but Omar went the distance as Pachuca defeated Al Jazira to take 3rd place in the Club World Cup.
