Happy New Year’s Eve folks! We say goodbye to 2017 and prepare to say hello to 2018. We hope it will be a much better year for United States soccer than 2017 was. Here at Stars and Stripes FC, we are always hoping to improve and feature more pieces written by you, our community of fans. Accordingly, we’re proud to introduce the Fanpost of the Week series! Every Wednesday night, we will pick our favorite Fanpost of the previous 7 days and run it on the main site on Thursday.
If you haven’t written a Fanpost for SSFC and want to start, it’s easy! First, you must have a SBN username and join the community. If you haven’t done that already, try to comment on a post and it will give you the option of joining the Stars and Stripes community. You will have a 24-hour waiting period before you will be eligible to post.
To post, head to the Fanposts section and on the left, you will see a button to create a new Fanpost:

Whatever your topic, try to make it at least 150 words, and submit it. If we like it, we will bump it up to the main page!
If you’re looking to write more on the game of soccer, this is a great way to get your name out there. Plus, great Fanposts have always been turned into great articles, and great Fanposters have become regular contributors on not just this site, but several others on SB Nation. That’s how I got my start, so it can be done!
We welcome you all to 2018, and we can’t wait to see what you guys contribute on a weekly basis. You never know...you could see your next Fanpost on the front page on Thursday morning!
