Yanks Abroad: 11 things to know from the weekend

We check in with the national team players abroad

Soccer: 2016 Olympic Qualifying -Colombia at USA Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Matt Miazga

The 21 year old went the full 90 for Vitesse and secured the 2-0 shut out against AZ Alkmaar to win the Dutch KNVB Cup. He continues to play very well while on loan from Chelsea.

Carli Lloyd

Carli scored the game winner for Manchester City in the second leg of their UWCL semifinal against Olympique Lyonnais, but it wasn't enough to overcome Lyon's goal aggregate. Lloyd netted the winner in the 57', capitalizing on a huge error from Lyon's goalkeeper Sarah Bouhaddi. WATCH HIGHLIGHTS.

DeAndre Yedlin

Played all 90 for Premier League bound Newcastle as they defeated Cardiff City 2-0. He looked like the best right-back in the Championship and now he’ll get another shot at the Premier League.

Brad Guzan

Middlesbrough looks like they are going to be relegated, but Guzan was between the posts for a wild 2-2 draw with Manchester City. Two goals from lethal players, and let’s be real nobody can stop an Aguero PK.

Crystal Dunn

Crystal Dunn had a barnstormer of a game as she helped Chelsea defeat Yeovil Town 6-0. Dunn had multiple opportunities on goal and finally bagged one of her own in the thrashing, scoring on an angle in the 71'.

Christian Pulisic

Dortmund were overtaken by Hoffenheim for 3rd place in the Bundesliga after a 0-0 draw with Cologne. Pulisic played the whole game but was underwhelming like most of BvB.

Bobby Wood

It’s been a rough stretch for Wood and Hamburger SV. They are in very real danger of being relegated and they were stomped 4-0 this weekend by Augsbug. Bobby, as the scoreline would suggest, had a poor match.

Alex Morgan

Came on as a substitute in the second half for Lyon. It seemed like a frustrating game for her, with multiple collisions on the field, including a big one in the box as she was wiped out by Man City's Karen Bardsley. She wasn’t happy.

Alfredo Morales

Ingolstadt is all but officially relegated this year in next to last place. But this weekend they managed to draw with RB Leipzig 0-0. Morales however, picked up his second yellow card in the 86’ minute and was sent off.

Geoff Cameron

Went the full 90 for Stoke in a 0-0 draw with West Ham United.

John Brooks

He is out with a thigh injury and potentially part of the reason Hertha Berlin were defeated 2-0 by Werder Bremen. Berlin is sitting in 5th place right now, the Europa League slot in the Bundesliga.
