US Soccer has a message for the LGBTQ community

If you can play, you can play.

It’s Pride Month in the United States, and US Soccer has already announced that players will be wearing rainbow numbers on their jerseys in support and celebration. On top of that, they’ve partnered with You Can Play, which works to help support LGBTQ athletes, coaches, and fans.

Today, before both the WNT and the MNT go into action, they posted this video. Team captains Michael Bradley and Becky Sauerbrunn joined several of their teammates in telling queer fans that soccer is for them too.

The message is pretty clear, and if it makes even one fan or player or coach feel comfortable being queer while loving soccer, then job well done.
