United States center back John Brooks will miss at least three months with a right thigh injury. Brooks suffered this injury in his competitive debut for his new club Wolfsburg after completing a U.S. international record transfer fee move from Hertha Berlin.

This news could not come at a worse time for the USMNT. This means that Brooks will miss the last of the World Cup qualifiers this September and October. With tough matches versus Costa Rica and Honduras on the horizon, this is not the news you want to hear if you are Bruce Arena. The USMNT needs to win these matches and not having Brooks will be a big blow to their back line. However, it will be the next man up and the team has no choice but to give it their all and win.
As for Brooks, we wish him a nice and easy recovery, get well soon!
