It was the first weekend of club action in Europe after the international break, and several United States internationals featured for their teams. How did they fare? Let’s take a look at the notable American performances:
Christian Pulisic
Pulisic got the start and went the distance but Borussia Dortmund were unable to get on the board against Freiburg and it ended in a 0-0 draw. He completed 28 of 29 passes but nobody on the front line did very well.
Geoff Cameron
After playing the first half for Stoke City in a 2-2 draw with Manchester United, Cameron picked up a hamstring injury which will keep him out a couple of weeks.
Bobby Wood
Bobby Wood did not have the best day on Friday as the front man for Hamburger SV. RB Leipzig came to town and won 2-0. Wood was unable to even get a shot off in the match.
Timmy Chandler
Eintracht Frankfurt defeated Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-0 and Chandler played the whole match. He had some quality moments winning duals and he picked up several interceptions.
Weston McKennie
The 19-year-old came on as a sub in the 76th minute as Schalke 04 defeated Stuttgart 3-1. McKennie picked up a yellow card in his short appearance.
Haji Wright
Wright got the start for Sandhausen in the second tier on his loan from Schalke. He went the distance in a 1-1 draw.
Tim Ream
Ream went the full 90 in defense as Fulham drew 1-1 with Cardiff City.
Matt Miazga
While on loan from Chelsea, he played all 90 minutes for Vitesse in a 3-0 shutout at Excelsior in the Netherlands.
Ethan Horvath
Club Brugge picked up the 2-1 loss to Mouscron in Belgium with Horvath between the pipes.
Michael Orozco
Orozco played all 90 for Tijuana in a 2-0 win over Pumas.
Was subbed off in the 84th minute as Tijuana took down Pumas.
Mix Diskerud
Went the distance for Goteborg in Sweden in a 3-1 loss to Djurgarden.
