USMNT October World Cup qualifying roster announced

Here we go.

It all comes down to the next ten days. Today, the United States unveiled the 26-man roster who will seek to deliver a World Cup berth in matches against Panama October 6th (7:00pm ET, ESPN2) and on the road at Trinidad and Tobago October 10th (8:00pm ET, beIN Sports). If the USMNT is going to get to the World Cup, it will be these guys who get us there.

Without further ado, the 26-man roster:

Goalkeepers (3): Tim Howard (Colorado Rapids), Brad Guzan (Atlanta United), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

Defenders (9): Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Omar Gonzalez (Pachuca), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Jorge Villafana (Santos Laguna), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City), Tim Ream (Fulham), DaMarcus Beasley (Houston Dynamo), Michael Orozco Fiscal (Club Tijuana)

Midfielders (10): Kellyn Acosta (FC Dallas), Juan Agudelo (New England Revolution), Paul Arriola (D.C. United), Alejandro Bedoya (Philadelphia Union), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Benny Feilhaber (Sporting Kansas City), Dax McCarty (Chicago Fire), Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy)

Forwards (4): Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders), Bobby Wood (Hamburger SV), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes)

With this roster, Bruce Arena is trying to go after something that the USMNT has not done in any set of World Cup qualifying matches to this point: win both and get the necessary 6 points to clinch a automatic spot in the World Cup. Anything less than 6 points and it’s either relying on math or other teams to drop points to secure the automatic bid or enter the inter-confederation playoff against Australia or Syria next month.

You know what it is...hit the comments to let us know what you think of the roster!
