The United States men’s national team, behind an obscure starting lineup trotted Bruce Arena, came away with a vital point from Azteca in a 1-1 draw against Mexico. The U.S. got off the best possible start when Michael Bradley chipped Memo Ochoa from about 45 yards out. After conceding about 17 minutes later off a counter-attack, the defense buckled down and held El Tri to just one shot on goal through 90 minutes on their home turf.
Man of the Match: Geoff Cameron
It was extremely close, but Geoff Cameron (8.11) ekes out the community’s MOTM away from Michael Bradley (8.09). Both players were deserving as each had their best individual performances in quite sometime. However, it’s Cameron who earns it thanks to his brilliant overall defensive body of work that included numerous goal-saving tackles.
