When the United States lost 2-0 to Costa Rica Friday night, there was certainly some understandable anger from the fans about the performance of the USMNT players. We brought back the community players ratings, where you all were able to rate how the players did. And you all punished them...hard. No one on the team really played well, and you all reflected that in your ratings. Here they are:
Tim Howard - 3.838
Graham Zusi - 4.899
Geoff Cameron - 3.363
Tim Ream - 3.004
Jorge Villafana - 3.920
Michael Bradley - 5.171
Fabian Johnson - 3.895
Christian Pulisic - 5.206
Darlington Nagbe - 5.457
Jozy Altidore - 4.738
Bobby Wood - 4.811
Clint Dempsey - 4.504
Your Man of the Match was Darlington Nagbe, who you rated just ahead of Christian Pulisic and Michael Bradley. Nagbe was pretty decent on the night, particularly in the middle third of the field. Still, for most of the USMNT, Friday night was a night to forget. Let’s hope that Tuesday is a much better showing, because our backs are now to the wall and there’s no room for error.
