USA vs. Honduras, 2018 World Cup qualifying: Man of the match, community player ratings

Wood saves the day.

The United States left it late in San Pedro Sula, as it took a Bobby Wood goal in the 85th minute to salvage a draw against Honduras. After the match, you got a chance to rate the players and let us know how you thought they performed. The results for some players were slightly better on average from last Friday’s loss to Costa Rica, but still you guys destroyed their efforts. Here are the averaged ratings:

Brad Guzan - 5.269

Graham Zusi - 3.212

Omar Gonzalez - 2.865

Matt Besler - 5.029

DaMarcus Beasley - 3.921

Michael Bradley - 4.715

Kellyn Acosta - 5.211

Darlington Nagbe - 4.520

Christian Pulisic - 5.778

Jordan Morris - 5.256

Clint Dempsey - 4.558

Paul Arriola - 5.624

Geoff Cameron - 5.632

Bobby Wood - 7.290

Bobby Wood, in a result that should not shock anyone, was your Man of the Match due to his late heroics to save the day and send the USMNT home with a crucial road point. You all thought that the substitutes, Paul Arriola and Geoff Cameron, were also pretty good in relief, and that Christian Pulisic had a much better match. On the other end, it seems like the majority of you never want to see Omar Gonzalez in a United States jersey ever again. Ouch.

The USMNT have two more matches in World Cup qualifying: October 6th against Panama in Orlando and October 10th away to Trinidad and Tobago. Let’s hope the players dig deep to win both matches and secure direct qualification to head to Russia next summer.
