Erica Lichaj is having an incredible day. The 29-year-old United States international has scored two goals for Nottingham Forest in the first half of their 3rd round FA Cup match against Arsenal. The first goal came in the 20th minute, off a free kick deep in the box for Forest. Kieran Dowell sent it towards the goal, and Lichaj was able to position himself in space right in front of Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina to head it into the roof of the net.

The second goal was nothing short of beautiful. While Arsenal equalized 3 minutes after Lichaj’s first goal, he wasn’t done with the heroics. In the 44th minute, after a failed Arsenal clearance in the box, Lichaj collected the ball with his chest and immediately volleyed it into the upper left corner of the net. It was a brilliant display of skill by Lichaj to get the lead back for Forest

Eric Lichaj is showing some skills today for Nottingham Forest, and if they can hold on in the 2nd half, he will be the hero. Forest currently lead Arsenal 3-1 in the 2nd half, and many USMNT fans are probably hoping that Lichaj can get more national team looks going forward if he can continue to perform at this level.
