I Simulated and Won the 2022 World Cup on FIFA 19

Yes, I won the 2022 World Cup on FIFA 19 with the USMNT. I couldn't believe what was happening, but it happened, and I saw it with my own eyes.

Let's start with the roster and player ratings.

Xl: Manneh (78) Wright (78) Pulisic (88)

McKennie (82) Adams (84) Acosta (80)

Robinson (80) Brooks (85) Miazga (80) Yedlin (81)

Steffen (82)

Subs: Horvath (77) Sargent (78) Moore (79) Parker (78) Arriola (77) Roldan (79) Morris (78)

Reserves: Jackson-new unknown centerback (77) Parks (79) Gagnon-new unknown GK (77) Saief (76) Lindsey (78)

The relatively young USA team was drawn into a group with Spain, Uruguay and Scotland. In the opening game the Americans got run off the pitch losing 4-0 to Spain. They rebounded well by beating Scotland 3-0, unfortunately Acosta picked up a bad injury and was replaced by Roldan for the remainder of the World Cup. In the final game of the group USA squeaked out a 2-1 win over Uruguay. Spain won the group with 9 points and USA finished second with 6 points.

In the round of 16 the Americans played Venezuela and won 1-0. The quarterfinals was a much more difficult task but we pulled off the upset of France 3-2. A Messi-less Argentina squad found it's way to the semi finals but the Americans were again up to the task and easily defeated Argentina 2-0. Hadji Wright unfortunately got injured in that match and was replaced by the young star Josh Sargent. The final was one for the books as the Americans faced off against an aging Germany side. USA won on 1-1(5-4)Pens. For a few seconds I forgot it was a video game and celebrated like it was real.

Is this a sign of things to come? Maybe. But thank you FIFA for bringing joy(even if for only a few seconds) to a broken down American fan.
