The Yanks were pretty quiet this past week with many players out of the lineup for various reasons. But Lynden Gooch continued his solid season with a nice goal in FA Cup action plus Haji Wright and Jan George got in the action in Germany. The players will now either have a week off or they are reporting for duty as the international break begins.

England

Lynden Gooch
Gooch was on the score-sheet again in Sunderland’s 2-0 win over Port Vale in the FA Cup. It was well taken in a tight space and it is clear the guy is playing with confidence right now. VIDEO

DeAndre Yedlin
Newcastle United picked up their second straight win over the weekend against Bournemouth by a final of 2-1. Yedlin had several good moments including a great give-and-go to set up the first goal. There was also a brilliant moment he had in tracking back as well when he stole the ball in stride without even making a tackle. He completed 20 out of 30 passes on the day. VIDEO

Eric Lichaj
Although he completed just 58% of his passes, Lichaj played a really solid 90 minutes in Hull City’s 3-3 draw with Birmingham. He was successful with four out five tackles, contributed two interceptions, five clearances, and added two key passes on the other end.

Geoff Cameron
The 33-year-old has been playing well for Queens Park Rangers in the Championship as of late, but was far from his best on Saturday. He went 90 minutes as QPR beat Brentford 3-2. Cameron completed just 17 out of 34 passes with one shot off target. He was dispossessed once and he lost four out of five duels.

John Brooks
The Wolfsburg defender played 90 minutes in a 2-1 loss at Hannover. Brooks completed 90% of his passes (64 out of 71) and eight out of 11 long balls. He’s been very good in that regard this season, sitting at 87% on the year. He also picked up a yellow card in the 93rd minute.

Weston McKennie
Coming of the bench for the final 25 minutes, McKennie got 20 touches and completed 66% of his passes (one key pass). He did was he was put in there for, winning five duels and losing just one.
