With Neymar sidelined for the rest of the season with an injury, opportunity finally knocked for U.S. youth international Tim Weah at Paris Saint-Germain. The 18-year-old made his first-team debut for the French giants on Saturday in the club’s 2-0 win away to Troyes.

The son of former Balon d’Or winner George Weah came on in the 79th minute and looked bright in his limited touches. He had a golden chance in stoppage time to put his name up in lights as he had a clear opportunity with the goalkeeper after being put in on goal from the left flank. Unfortunately, his curling finish ended up in the midsection of the ‘keeper.

Missed chance aside, he showed his technique and pace in his short debut. Hopefully this is the start of something special for the youngster in Ligue 1. With Neymar out, perhaps he’ll get even more chances as the season hit the home stretch.
