With the UEFA Nations Cup and CONCACAF League of Nations both on the horizon, friendlies of this ilk will become more and more rare. However, we’ll still see countries schedule these matches in between those fixtures. Italy kick off their UEFA Nations Cup schedule in September.
The USSF has yet to confirm this friendly as they are always extra careful not to announce a match until all the details are ironed out. So far, there are only three friendlies confirmed for the USMNT in 2018 with France, Bolivia and Ireland all on the docket ahead of the World Cup.
What do you think of this potential match-up? Interested to see how the USMNT stacks up against another World Cup qualifying failure? Rather they played someone else? Sound off.
