Stade de Reims clinched the Ligue 2 championship with a 3-1 win over Chamois Niortais F.C. at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II. Pablo Chavarria, Diego Rodrigues, and Nolan Mbemba scored in the triumphant victory.
Reims set the league’s points record with 84 despite having three matches left to play.

French-Cameroonian-American striker Theoson Siebatcheu started and played 90 minutes, but didn’t score.
However, he did score two goals in Reims’ midweek 4-1 win over AJ Auxerre.

Siebatcheu is in sole possession of second place on the Ligue 2 scoring chart with 16 goals.
Now that the club season is winding down, the soccer/football/futbol world’s focus turns to the international side of things. While the USMNT isn’t participating in the World Cup (sorry if this is breaking news to you), there is recruiting to be done and several dual-national to convince to don the red, white, and blue.
It seems like a match made in heaven: a striker without a national team commitment who can’t stop scoring on his way to the top division and a national team in need of young talent with upcoming friendlies on the schedule.
