It was fast and furious at BBVA Compass Stadium as the United States opened up their second friendly against Mexico. There were some questions about the back line going into this game, questions that were quickly swept aside as the scoreline blew up, injuries forced subs, and Carli Lloyd went for #100.
The USWNT got things started in a hurry as they scored in the 3’ from Mal Pugh, fed by Megan Rapinoe (get used to that phrase), which kind of set the tone for the rest of the game, at least in terms of energy levels. Watch Pugh’s opening goal and the rest of the feeding frenzy below.

So just to recap: the score at full time was 6-2. Goals from five different scorers and Megan Rapinoe with four assists and a goal because apparently she likes to watch and laugh as everyone dances while she pulls the universe’s strings.
Honestly, what even was this game?
