If only there were a way to watch USMNT players in action this weekend

With international games beginning to take over the airways there aren’t many club games available and even the ones that can be found lack significant USMNT impact but we’ll cover each of your opportunities briefly below.

Saturday

Portland Timbers v LA Galaxy - 5:00p on ESPN2

The hottest team in MLS, the Timbers have responded to beginning the season winless through their first five game by winning their next six, thanks in part to playing four of the six at home. They now sit in fourth place with a 6-3-2 record. Unfortunately for USMNT fans there still istn’t much to see there as Marco Farfan, the 19-year-old left-back prospect has been firmly entrenched on the bench throughout the streak, managing just a single substitute minute.

The LA Galaxy continue their roller coaster season, most recently coming off a mid-week loss to F.C. Dallas despite Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s brace. Perry Kitchen and Sebastian Lletget would be the two USMNT players to keep your eyes on for LA.

Sunday

Sporting Kansas City v Minnesota United - 8:30p on FS1

Sporting KC failed to score despite playing half their game against Columbus up a man and have drawn their last two but still sit in first place in the Western Conference. The defensive trio of Zusi, Besler and Opara have seen some USMNT action in the past and could be called on again in the future though their ages are certainly working against them at this point, Opara is the youngster of the group at 29.

Christian Ramirez picked up a goal for the Loons last weekend in their win over Montreal, it was his second goal in three games. The Loons sit in 9th place in the Western Conference and are going to need to find a way to get better results on the road if they’re going to make any noise this season.
