According to Ouest France, Stade Rennais FC will complete a transfer for American-French-Cameroonian striker Theoson-Jordan Siebatcheu. The reported fee is just under 12 million Euro and he will reportedly join the Rouge et Noir after a standout season with Stade de Reims in which he was second in the Domino’s Ligue 2 golden boot race with 17 goals. His season was highlighted by a hat trick in December and a brace scored in January and April. The altruistic player also contributed with six assists on the way to helping Reims win promotion to Ligue 1 after finishing atop the French second division table.
As far as his international prospects, Siebatcheu was born in Washington, D.C. and so far hasn’t committed to any of the three national teams that he is eligible to represent. However, he has appeared for the France U-21 team twice. The US does seem to be trying to actively recruit the 22 year-old as yesterday Soccer America editor Paul Kennedy reported that American Manager Dave Sarachan confirmed that the striker had been in touch with US Soccer.
Sarachan says there have been conversations with Jordan Siebatcheu.

For now, US fans will have to be content watching him play for Rennais as he continues his development and tries to make the next step in his career against stiffer competition.
