The United States men’s national team lost to Ireland, 2-1, on Saturday. In what was a pretty pedestrain 90 minutes, we didn’t get to see much of the youthful spark that we saw against Bolivia. It wasn’t a terrible performance by any means, but it wasn’t exactly inspiring either. It just ... happened. Bobby Wood got on the scoresheet in the first half before a Bill Hamid howler in the second allowed the match to be leveled. As time ticked down, Ireland’s Alan Judge blasted in the winner past Hamid.
