UPDATED 9/7/2018
The US men’s national team might have found their sixth of six planned friendlies in their fall Kickoff Series, as Franco Panizo at Soccer By Ives reports that the USMNT could face Peru in October.
This would round out a really nice list of opponents from September through November, including Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, England, and Italy. With the other October friendly taking place in Tampa, FL, the Peru game might stay on the east coast, although with New Jersey and Tennessee already on the slate, a west coast game might be nice for fans.
Peru will be starting to prepare for Copa America next June and obviously are just coming off a tough Group C performance at the World Cup, where they lost to France and Denmark. The last USMNT meeting with Peru was September 4, 2015, when the US beat Peru 2-1 at RFK Stadium off a Jozy Altidore brace.
Where do you think this game should be played and what are your score predictions if Peru gets finalized as our sixth friendly? Let us know in the comments.
Update: Friendly confirmed. The USMNT will play Peru on October 16 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford.
#USMNT adds another South American foe to the schedule, finalizing an October friendly vs. Peru that completes the rest of its 2018 slate https://t.co/dFIwJdRjkx
