The United States will face Colombia in Tampa Bay on October 11th. The match will take place at Raymond James Stadium and will be broadcast on FS1, Unimas and Univision Deportes at 7:30 PM ET. This is the fifth match announced as part of the six-game Kickoff Series this fall.
The USMNT has scheduled a very difficult slate of games this fall. They’ll kick off against Brazil on September 7th at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. That will be followed by a date with archrival Mexico on September 11th in Nashville. The USMNT will square off against England on November 15th in London. Then they will face Italy on November 20th. The sixth match will be a few days after the Colombia match, but the opponent and venue has yet to be announced. All this adds up to an extremely difficult set of friendlies (four of the five opponents made the knockout round in the 2018 World Cup-two of those four made it to at least the quarterfinal). The USMNT will have their work cut out for them against these high level opponents.
The last time the US played Colombia was during the Copa America Centenario when they faced each other twice. Colombia won the opening match of the tournament against the US 2-0 and also won the third place match 1-0. Overall, the US is 3-4-12 all time against Los Cafeteros.
