United States Men’s National Team midfielder Christian Pulisic scored the game winner for Borussia Dortmund against Club Brugge in Champions League play today.

Dortmund’s 1-0 away victory gave it a vital three points in a tough group A that features AS Monaco and Atletico Madrid, in addition to Club Brugge.

Pulisic opened his account for both the 2018/2019 Champions League and overall season by running into a terrible pass, made by Club Brugge centerback Matej Mitrovic, that failed to leave the eighteen yard box.

He didn’t even have to take a proper shot as the ball simply bounced off of him and looped over goalkeeper Karlo Letica.

Pulisic started the game on the bench before replacing Jadon Sancho on the left-wing in the 69th minute.

Dortmund largely outplayed the Belgian side, but could only manage two shots on target all match.

This marked Pulisic’s first match back after missing Dortmund’s previous two games due to a muscular injury. Scoring a Champions League game-winner in an away match sure isn’t a bad way to celebrate your 20th birthday.
