Chelsea’s Matt Miazga has joined his second different club on loan this season. After spending the first half of the current campaign with Ligue 1 side FC Nantes, the New Jersey native has now been sent Reading FC to finish it out.

Reading are currently battling relegation in the Championship, sitting in 22nd place with just 23 points.
It was a nightmare stint for Miazga with Nantes as he was shunned from the team after October 7th after appearing just eight times for the club. The situation got so bad that the club’s manager even accused him of faking an injury to get out of France.
Reading is no stranger to hosting American talent. The club has had such players as Bobby Convey, Marcus Hahnemann, and Danny Williams in the past.
Hopefully this is a step in a positive direction for the defender, who many believed had a lock on a USMNT starting job for this new cycle. After a poor start to this season, he has some work to do ahead of this summer’s Gold Cup to impress new manager Gregg Berhalter.
