There was A LOT of action to get to as the international break ended and club football was back this past weekend. We have seven goals and three assists on the list today, plus Zack Steffen came up with quite the accomplishment in the Bundesliga.
Let’s see what happend with the Yanks Abroad this past week:
England
Matt Miazga
Reading avoided the relegation zone with Miazga’s winner in the 97th minute. He picked up a yellow card for excessive celebration but hey, some moments just call for a leap into the stands. With the winner and a 1-0 shutout, he was Man of the Match for both FotMob & WhoScored.

Martha Thomas
The Hammers’ #9 scored the first of two goals in stoppage time to extend a Continental League Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur, although West Ham United eventually lost in penalty kicks. The highlights of this wild one are worth the watch, especially for the fantastic goal from Thomas. HIGHLIGHTS
Adrienne Jordan
She scored in the 59th minute as Birmingham City eliminated Leicester City from the League Cup.
Christian Pulisic
Coming off the bench in the 64th minute of Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Newcastle United, Pulisic had a great day and even set up the match winner. He was also robbed an assist as well (by DeAndre Yedlin... see below). It hasn’t necessarily been the dream USMNT fans were hoping for so far but Lampard is happy with the young American. ALL TOUCHES

DeAndre Yedlin
Yedlin was on the other end of that 1-0 loss for Newcastle United. That was the only goal scored in the two matches (vs Chelsea & Manchester United) he’s played all 90 minutes since returning from injury. Check out the ridiculous clearance below to save a goal and take an assist away from Pulisic.
