The Soccer Prophet: Managing Christian Pulisic

Hello everyone! I know it has been a great while since I did a Soccer Prophet Fan article, and while this one won't be weekly like previous ones, I wanna talk about a specific topic that you probably can already guess based on the title for this Fan post, how Pulisic should start being managed by Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard. Let's get started

First off, we need to know why Pulisic was benched by Lampard for about a month. Everyone knows that a player going to play in the EPL for the first time is a big adjustment, especially for a young player from another country. Pulisic was no different. After a rather poor start by him to start his Chelsea career, he was inevitably benched by Frank. After going a few games not being used as a Sub by the Chelsea coach, to the point of not being in the 18 for one of their Champions League group stage match, Christian was finally given a shot off the bench against Southampton off the bench. Pulisic assisted on the last goal of the game which ended up being 4-1 in Chelsea's favor. After that he started making a few more appearances off the bench to provide a spark for Chelsea which he did, a spark that was there against Ajax where he came off the bench along with Michy Batshuayi where he delivered the game winning assist for Michy to win against Ajax 1-0. After that, it seemed Pulisic was finally finding his footing for Chelsea. After the International break in October(don't need to tell you what happened during that Window), Pulisic finally earned a start for Chelsea in the EPL since August 31st, and the flood gates had finally opened.

The player we wanted to see in the EPL in Pulisic finally appeared, scoring a perfect hat trick against Burnley. After that, Pulisic so far hasn't looked back. He has continued to earn starts under Lampard and has completely repaid Frank's trust in him by tallying 6 goals and 6 assists so far in his time with Chelsea. Pulisic, against West Ham, showed that he was yet again one of Chelsea's most dangerous players going forward and continues to play like it since he has started regularly under Frank. In Frank's at the moment it seems, Pulisic looks undroppable which is very much justified. However, making Pulisic undroppable could prove to be Frank's enemy.

Pulisic has been at his best so far once he got benched and fought like hell to earn a place. For Frank to continue getting the best outta Pulisic, and the entire Chelsea team, he needs to start rotating players more. While we as USMNT fans love to see Pulisic starting, performing, producing and going the full 90 for top team is exciting, Pulisic will start feeling fatigue in his legs. Make no mistake, English Football is very demanding on a players stamina, especially if European football is being played by an English team, so now it is up to Frank to start to figure out on when it's an appropriate time to bench Pulisic and give him some rest to save him for the bigger games. It would be wise for Frank to bench him against Everton and save him for their must win game against Ligue 1 side Lille. Considering Pulisic is still very new to playing in English Football, Frank must continue to properly man manage Christian if he wants his form to continue and to hopefully have him as Chelsea's talisman in the future. It's very possible Pulisic will reach double digit goals and assists this season, God willing, but won't do it running with tired legs.

That's all from me, as always, leave a comment, agree or disagree. I'll talk to you all later and follow me on Twitter @Chrisawesome63.
