Yanks Abroad: A trio of goals in Australia

The men didn’t supply much action on the score sheet this past week, but the ladies were there to pick up the slack in Australia.

We’ve got a lot of regulars on Yanks Abroad who are sidelined with injury at the moment. But Sophia Huerta, Lynn Williams, and Haley Hanson gave us plenty to check out over in Australia. Tyler Adams was unable to make his anticipated return, Josh Sargent will be out until after Christmas, and several other big names are also still out with injury.

But let’s check in to see how everyone else fared last week.

Australia

Sophia Huerta

The 26-year-old Huerta scored for Sydney FC over the weekend.

Lynn Williams

Playing for Western Sydney, on loan from North Carolina Courage, Williams finished a well taken goal in a 1-1 draw with Melbourne.

Haley Hanson

The other goal in that draw was scored by another North Carolina Courage loanee, Haley Hanson.

Turkey

Tyler Boyd

The 24-year-old scored in Besiktas’ 3-0 cup win last week, and then was given a rest on the weekend. He also got himself a yellow card in that midweek win as well.
