United States Under-20 Men’s National Team head coach Tab Ramos has named a 20-player roster to travel to Spain to take part in the group’s final training camp before this summer’s U-20 World Cup.
The U.S. will take on two fellow World Cup participants in friendlies during the camp. First they’ll play France on Friday, March 22 and then Japan on Monday, March 25.
Ramos’ group of selections for this camp is a pretty strong one that features a nice mix of domestic and European based youngsters. A few names that pop out immediately are Konrad de la Fuente, a young kid who is making waves in FC Barcelona’s youth setup, Alex Mendez, the 2018 Concacaf Championship Golden Ball winner, and Chris Richards, a technically gifted defender who recently signed with Bayern Munich.
There will certainly be some battling for spots on the final World Cup roster. Someone like Andrew Carleton, who starred at the U-17 World Cup but has since fell out of favor due to club form, could work their way back into the fold with a good camp.
The full roster is below. Head to the comments and give your thoughts.
