Jonathan Klinsmann rumored to be heading to Rangers

It’s that time of year again

An American goalkeeper who is challenging himself at the highest level may be heading to a new team. Jonathan Klinsmann is set to leave Hertha Berlin according to Bild and other outlets.

The keeper hasn’t played for the Hertha first team this year either as a keeper or striker, and the son of former USMNT manager and Der Mannschaft legend Jurgen Klinsmann is looking for first team minutes. Whether or not that comes with the Scottish team would of course have to be determined, but he may have more chances there than in the Bundesliga.

Klinsmann would be joining fellow American Matt Polster under manager Steven Gerrard should he end up at Ibrox Stadium. This would be Klinsmann’s second team after turning pro following a solid year with the Cal Golden Bears and eye catching performance at the 2017 U-20 World Cup.

For now this is just a rumor, but it seems to have legs and at the very least shows that Klinsmann is looking to make a move to find playing time rather than assume a bench role with his current club.
