Christian Pulisic did his best to keep Borussia Dortmund’s title hopes alive today by scoring a fantastic goal in the opening stages of their match against Werder Bremen. The U.S. international took it upon himself to get the scoring started with a brilliant individual run that broke through the opposition’s defense with ease and a great finish for his third league goal of the season.
Nice solo effort from @cpulisic_10 to open the scoring early in #SVWBVB!

It’s undoubtedly been a challenging season for the 20-year-old star. Injuries and the emergence of Jadon Sancho has really limited his chances to make an impact. His long-rumored and eventually completed transfer to Chelsea probably didn’t help his case in the eyes of his manager either.
Could this be the final great act for Pulisic in a Dortmund shirt? He’s off to Stamford Bridge in the summer and there’s only two more matches remaining in the season. Unfortunately for him and the club, it appears the goal will be nothing more than a consolation prize as the game ended 2-2 and likely ended any hopes for the Bundesliga title.
Nevertheless, it’s a great goal and hopefully a good sign for this summer’s Gold Cup.
