Well it’s been an exciting World Cup to get things started as the first set of games in group play finished up yesterday. There were some unexpected results, a huge blowout, and yet more surprises are surely to come.
For today, group A will have their second set of matches as Nigeria and Korea Republic get things started. Nigeria will have a chance to be the first team from Africa to grab a win in the tournament as each side looks to make things interesting in the group. Depending on other results, a tie for second could emerge by the end of the day so it will be a big match for Korea and Nigeria. Speaking of the rest of the group, France and Norway will face off each heading into the game with a 3 points. The winner will have an inside track for winning the group and with France favored over the more defensive minded Norway, the home team might be in the drivers seat to do just that.
Meanwhile in group B, Germany and Spain will face off in a match that pits a heavyweight vs. a hopeful. The fate of the group possibly hangs in the balance as a win would put one team at 6 points heading into the third game.
