Soccer: 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup -USA at Jamaica Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Gold Cup is off and running and today will open play for Group C. This could be one of the more surprisingly competitive groups in the tournament with a pair of dark horses starting things off with Curacao vs. El Salvador. That will be a huge game for both sides as each will want to grab three points before taking on the group favorites.

Jamaica and Honduras will follow with the Reggae Boyz claiming home-field advantage for the match as Concacaf has decided to expand group play internationally this year. The match should feature a great atmosphere and a chance for the teams to make a statement in the group.

Honduras has one of the best players in the tournament with Alberth Elis. The 23 year-old forward has five goals and five assists for the surprisingly good Houston Dynamo in MLS. La H has had mixed results coming into the tournament having lost their last competitive game in the World Cup qualifying playoff against Australia and recently losing their last friendly 7-0 against Brazil.
