The United States survived a spirited Curacao team to win 1-0 and advance to the Gold Cup semifinals to play Jamaica on Wednesday. It wasn’t the greatest match of soccer ever played. Nothing much really went right, but the U.S. survived and will play on. The performance continues an up and down trend so far in this tournament, one that will need to improve if they have any chance of lifting the trophy in the end.
