The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup begins today in Paris, and the hopes of 24 teams of lifting the World Cup trophy in Lyon officially take flight. The tournament begins with the host nation, France, taking on South Korea at the Parc des Princes in Paris. France, one of the odds-on favorites of the tournament, will have an entire nation behind them as they dream of winning it all on home soil.

South Korea is a team that has the ability to make a statement in this World Cup. Ranked 14th in the world, they aren’t going to be easy outs in any match. They’re hoping to spoil the Parisian party and get 3 points against the best team in Group A and one of the best in the world. Will the force majeure of Les Bleues be too much for the Koreans? Or will Taegeuk Nangja shock the host nation by getting the first win of the World Cup?
