The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup began yesterday in Paris, as France demolished South Korea 4-0 in front of a sold-out Parc des Princes crowd. The World Cup is a wonderful moment every 4 years where the women’s game takes center stage in a crowded soccer world. This time around, we have the unique opportunity to bring coverage on the ground in France throughout the entire tournament.
Stars & Stripes FC and All for XI will have people at every match for the United States Women’s National Team, and even for many of the other matches as well. Because of that, this column that will occur every 2-3 days will bring you a quick update on life on the ground in France for this World Cup. It could be quick reactions to a USWNT result, the general mood of people in France and the fan perspective on the tournament, other World Cup matches that occurred, or other fun stories.
As I head over to the land of baguettes, crêpes, champagne wishes and cognac dreams, follow the Women’s World Cup supergroup for all the articles posted across the SB Nation universe, We’re looking forward to providing you with unprecedented coverage of this great tournament, along with the rest of the news from around American soccer this summer!
