Add Paul Arriola to the list of U.S. national team players linked with a transfer during this busy summer window. Roger Gonzalez of CBS Sports reports that the D.C. United utility man and U.S. international is wanted by several clubs in Europe and Mexico.

No specific clubs are mentioned in the initial report, but Gonzalez states that the interest from Liga MX sides is due to the fact that Arriola would count as a domestic player thanks to his dual-national status. Due to the roster restrictions regarding homegrown talent, Arriola not counting as a foreign player makes him very desirable.

The report also mentions that the European interest involves at least one club from the United Kingdom. Thinking logically, this interest could be from the Premier League, Championship or Scottish Premiership.

Arriola joined D.C. United in 2017 from Club Tijuana and has earned a spot as a vital squad player under Ben Olsen. During that time, he’s worked his way into the USMNT picture under several different managers.

What do you think of this rumor? Would you want to see Arriola go abroad again or should he stay in D.C. where he has helped his stock so much?
