As part of their post-World Cup tour, the United States women’s national team will play two friendlies against #30 ranked Portugal, one on August 29 in Philadelphia and one on September 3 in St. Paul. These will be matches two and three following their first friendly against the Republic of Ireland in Pasadena.
In 2015, the USWNT played a 10-game victory tour, but following this World Cup, they will be limited to five games to help minimize disruptions to their club schedules and let the players recover from the tournament. The August 3 game is on a weekend when eight out of nine teams are playing, but the August 29 and September 3 games should prove minimally disruptive since they run through a weekend with only one game scheduled, assuming US Soccer doesn’t pull players early.
The last two games will be in October and are TBA.
