Erik Palmer-Brown loaned to Austria Wien

Dutch Eredivisie”NAC Breda v FC Emmen”

FK Austria Wien has announced the signing of United States Men’s National Team centerback Erik Palmer-Brown on a season long loan from Manchester City.

Sporting Director Ralf Muhr spoke highly of the 22-year-old and suggested that he could have an important role to play, at least in the short term, given the injuries to centerbacks Christian Schoissengeyr and Aleksandar Borkovic.

Palmer-Brown spent last season on loan with NAC Breda (Eredivisie), making eighteen appearances and scoring one goal. NAC was relegated after finishing last and conceding seventy-four goals in thirty-four games.

Palmer-Brown earned his first two USMNT caps during friendlies in 2018 but hasn’t featured for the national team since.

Wien lost its first two league games of the season and currently is eleventh in the twelve-team league. The club faces Cypriot side Apollon Limassol in the Europa League 3rd Qualifying Round.

Is this a good move for Palmer-Brown?
