While Germany was still on winter break, our Yanks Abroad in England, Spain, and Australia were busy over the weekend. Sunderland’s Lynden Gooch scored twice to bring his tally to seven goals on the season, and three in his last three matches. But we also got goals from the ladies by way of Payne, Thomas, Andrews, & Jenkins.
England
Lynden Gooch
The Sunderland man capitalized on two mistakes to record a brace in their 3-1 League 1 win over Lincoln City on Saturday.

Matthew Olosunde
21-year-old Olosunde picked up an assist in 90 minutes for Rotherham United as they fell to Hull City 3-2. The assist came off a very simple throw-in but the finish from his teammate Kyle Vassell was ridiculous! VIDEO
DeAndre Yedlin
The Newcastle right back played all 90 minutes of a rough 1-1 draw at Rochdale in FA Cup action. They’ll play again on January 14th. Newcastle had a disastrous 15 minute period in which four players went down. Yedlin also has apparently broken his hand but was forced to finish the match as they were already down to ten men.

Luca de la Torre
The 21-year-old came on the pitch for Fulham in the 84th minute of a 2-1 win over Aston Villa. In his short time he created one chance and completed six of seven passes.
Spain
Toni Payne
The 24-year-old scored the loan goal for the Sevilla women in a 5-1 loss at Tacon.
Shaq Moore
Moore came on the field in the 75th minute of Tenerife’s 4-2 win over Albacete to assist the last nail in the coffin in the 82nd minute. It was a simple pass in the midfield that led to a long-range strike.
Australia
Crystal Thomas
On her loan from the Washington Spirit, Thomas scored the first goal of a Perth comeback in the 52nd minute to get the 2-2 draw. She did very to hold off a defender on a long run down the right flank before a strong finish. She also was taken down in the box that led to the equalizer.
Morgan Andrews
Andrews completed the comeback in the 93rd minute by slotting home a penalty kick.
Quite the comeback!
