Straight out of the “well, duh” news category, USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter confirmed on Wednesday that Borussia Dortmund teenager Gio Reyna will be on his roster for the team’s two friendlies in March.
#usmnt coach Gregg Berhalter tells me that (no surprise) Giovanni Reyna will be called in for next months friendlies against the Netherlands s Wales.

Reyna, 17, will get his first look with the USA when they play the Netherlands (March 26) and Wales (March 30) in two friendlies during the upcoming FIFA international window.
The son of former national team star Claudio Reyna should receive his international debut after bursting onto the scene at the club level in the past few months. Gio has featured several times for Lucien Favre’s side in both the Bundesliga and Champions League and has made a noticeable impact.
Outlandish rumors of Reyna being scouted by other countries he’s potential eligible to play for have cropped up recently. However, there was virtual no doubt that the youngster would get his chance with the USMNT as soon as it was logistically possible.
What is your excitement level on seeing Gio with the national team? Do you think he’ll start both games? Give your thoughts below.
