Werder Bremen is taking on Koln in a must-win match to avoid relegation and Josh Sargent has helped to keep their hopes alive. The 20 year-old striker came off of the bench for Bremen at the half and about twenty minutes into the second 45 he scored the 6th Bremen goal of the day.

After teammate Milot Rashica went to ground to fight for a ball that he poked to the American striker, Sargent made what was a tough shot with the Koln keeper charging and a defender on his back look easy.

The score marked Sargent’s 10th in the Bundesliga in his career and was the first goal he’d had in 10 matches for his 4th of the campaign. Bremen has struggled this year and was in danger of relegation. It now appears that they will at least survive to fight for a relegation playoff match against the 3rd place side in 2. Bundesliga.
