United States’ National Team forward Andrija Novakovich scored the match winner today to give Frosinone the 2-1 aggregate win over Pordenone in the Serie B Promotion Playoff Semifinal.
After drawing with 9th place Pisa on the final day of the season, Frosinone were able to sneak into the playoff in 8th place. They then defeated 5th place Cittadella 3-2 in the quarterfinal. But Pordenone was able to get the 1-0 win in the first leg of the semifinal and put all the pressure on Frosinone to get the win away from home.
Everything would change just seven minutes into the second leg as Camillo Ciano pulled one back. With an extra pep in their step, the second goal was not far way. In the 15th minute, Novakovich was played in the box and calmly slotted home an absolutely huge goal for his club.

It was the 23-year-old’s fifth goal of the year to go with five assists from the regular season as well.
The club from just southeast of Rome made their first appearance in Seria A in the 2015-2016 season and have bounced back-and-forth since then. The two-legged final against Spezia kicks off on Sunday at 3pm ET. And it will all be decided with the second leg next Thursday, August 20th.
