Adams came on in the 72nd minute and scored the late match winner in the 88th for RB Leipzig as the team defeated Atletico Madrid in their single game quarterfinal to advance to the semifinals of Champions League play. Adams found a good deal of space on a run towards the top of the box and took the chance to unleash a shot. The shot took a heavy deflection but the result was a goal none the less and Leipzig will be moving on.
It was the first club goal for Adams at Leipzig and it couldn’t have come at a better moment. Leipzig had opened the scoring in the 50th minute with a goal by Dani Olmo but Joao Felix drew and then converted a penalty in the 71st minute to tie the game. Adams came on just after the penalty and the rest as they say is history.
