Happy Monday! I hope everyone had as good of a weekend as Haji Wright & Aron Johannsson.

Just when we thought Johannsson was cooling off after a two game scoreless stretch, he throws a brace at us. Haji Wright also got his second and third goals over in Denmark. We also had a couple of assists from Josh Sargent & Shaq Moore, plus a big debut from Zack Steffen last week.

Aron Johannsson - Forward, Hammarby

What did you do with your quarantine time? Because you should have done whatever it was that Aron Johannsson did. He now has eight goals and one assist in his last eleven appearances going back to August 9th.

Seventh place Hammarby got the 3-1 win over Falkenbergs FF after Johannsson gave them the lead in the 66th minute then put a cherry on top with a 92nd minute PK.

The 29-year-old was last on the bench for the United States Men’s National Team in two CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier losses in November of 2016.

Haji Wright - Forward, Sonderjyske

Wright is off to a fantastic start in the Danish Superliga with three goals in three just appearances off the bench (he also played 17 minutes in a Europa League Qualification loss). It took him just 27 minutes on Sunday to claim Man of the Match with two goals. They were the two easiest goals of his life, but everything seems to be clicking right now for the Los Angeles native. FULL MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Josh Sargent - Forward, Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen got a big 3-1 win at Schalke on Saturday as Sargent played 87 minutes and assisted the opening goal with a corner kick. He had just 32 touches, completing five of 12 pass attempts with one ‘big chance missed’. However, he did create four chances on the day.

Shaq Moore - Defender, Tenerife

Over in the second tier of Spain, Moore got his first assist of the season as Tenerife fell 2-1 at home to CD Mirandes. They’re sitting in 13th place with one win after the first three matches.

Zack Steffen - Keeper, Manchester City

The 25-year-old keeper made his debut for Pep Guardiola in a 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Bournemouth last week before resuming his backup duties in Premier League play over the weekend.

Guardiola was quite pleased with the American’s performance. HIGHLIGHTS
