An American soccer player will wear the number 10 shirt at one of the biggest clubs in the world. Christian Pulisic is switching from No. 22 to No. 10 this season, taking the prestigious and symbolic shirt from Willian who left for Arsenal in the offseason.

Ever since arriving at Stamford Bridge, Pulisic has drawn comparisons to Eden Hazard. After dazzling with his skills on the field, reminiscent of Chelsea’s former superstar, he’ll now take over the No. 10 shirt just like Hazard did after arriving and impressing at the club.
There’s no doubt that Pulisic earned the honor of wearing the No. 10, a traditional symbol of a club’s top playmaker. His first season in England was nothing short of breathtaking as he helped carry Chelsea to a Champions League spot and narrowing missing out on winning the FA Cup. Especially after the restart, Pulisic was sensational as both a provider and finisher.
Chelsea may have went out and splurged on their squad in the transfer window to add some mouthwatering attacking talent, but it’s clear that Pulisic is still one of their focal points with this news. Expectations will rise for him, but if his career thus far is any indication, he’ll meet and exceed them.
