The wave of young Americans jumping to top leagues five in Europe may have another undulation as Chris Gloster is rumored to be a Newcastle United transfer target. ESPN reports that the left back has caught the attention of the Magpies who are struggling to find a permanent option in that role. The move would require a work permit according to ESPN.

Gloster joined PSV in 2019 and has played for both the Jong PSV team and senior side in the Eredivisie. He still has another year on his PSV contract, but the move would position him to fight for playing time with the Newcastle U-23 team and possibly push for a role on the Premier League squad.

He also joins the hottest trend in world soccer transfers now - young American outside backs. This is obviously an exciting potential move as the depth and breadth of US talent continues to emerge and gain more recognition from scouts in competitive leagues.
