The United States Men’s National Team will be short one more centerback as camp opens. U.S. Soccer announced today that Wolfsburg defender John Brooks has withdrawn from the USMNT ahead of three World Cup qualifiers beginning this week due to a back injury he has sustained.
With Walker Zimmerman already called in to replace Tim Ream over the weekend, head coach Gregg Berhalter opted not to call in another player ahead of the first qualfier this Thursday against Jamaica. That leaves 26 players in the USMNT camp that opened today in Austin.
The current USMNT roster:
